Literature: “Kunst i Privateje”, vol. III, 1945, ill. and mentioned p. 358 (in Danish): “Mrs A. Knap’s rather extensive collection consists of older Danish paintings, and a number of large and significant works lend it particular weight. Chief among them is Christen Dalsgaard’s graceful genre painting “The Dessert”. There is a sense of grandeur and vastness in the landscape, where two young country folk have just finished their meal and are now enjoying their dessert — an apple. Adam and Eve on the heath.”
