The Coffee Merchant returns from America. Unsigned. Mixed media on paper with a movable bird's head. Visible size 51×74 cm.
Provenance: Acquired by the present owner's family directly from the portrayed merchant's family. The story goes in the family that the merchant asked his wife what she wanted him to bring back from America - she answered: “A nightgown and a parrot”.
Previously presented to Jens Bing and latest to Nicolai Brandt at the Storm P. Museum, Copenhagen.
