Billie Holiday's recordings between 1936 and 1942 marked her peak years. During that period she was often associated with saxophonist Lester Young, who gave her the nickname 'Lady Day'.
This is an original B/W silver gelatin press photograph from 1960 or earlier, which has a pinhole at the top and a minor tear in the lower left side; repair on back.
