Ferdinand Ahm Krag (b. Århus 1977)

Untitled. Unsigned. Watercolour, indian ink and pencil on paper. Sheet size 85×113 cm.

Provenance: The artist Nils Erik Gjerdevik (1962–2016).

Ferdinand Ahm Kragh was born in Aarhus but now lives and works in Copenhagen. In addition to his work as an artist, he works as a critic, essayist and most recently as a professor at the School of Painting at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Ahm Kragh's work arises from a seemingly tight and controlled universe, which, through the repeating and meditative nature of the lines, opens up to explorations of the human mind. The works are energetic and powerful – with an almost psychedelic aspect – and they move along the border between the figurative and pure imagination.
