Michail Vasilievich Boskin (b. Korelovschina, St. Petersburg region 1875, d. Zagorsk, Moscow region 1930)

Russian country scene with singing peasants dancing khorovod (round dance). Signed and dated K. Boskin 1914 (in Cyrillic). Oil on canvas. Visible size 54.5×69 cm.

Provenance: Acquired by Gerda Schønnebech, née Rydemand, when she lived in Russia with her fiancé and later husband, Alfred Schønnebech. He worked here for Store Nordiske Telegrafselskab (the Great Northern Telegraph Company) in the years around the Russian revolution in 1917.

Condition

Framed behind glass.
