The department valuates and provides advice on antique weapons, hand-made hunting weapons, antiquities, trophies, sporting guns and related accessories such as uniforms and cartridge cases. Coveted items at the auctions are weapons from names such as James Purdey & Sons, Holland & Holland, W & O Dittmann Hamburg, W.J. Jeffery, Thomas Bland & Sons, Stephen Grant & Sons, Smith & Wesson, Simson Suhl, Sauer & Sohn, P.B. Beretta, Mannlicher Schönauer, Joseph Lang & Sons, John Rigby & Co and Henry Atkin.
