A dream of a piece by Arje Griegst
The world-famous Danish jewellery designer Arje Griegst is one of the headliners at the Live Auction on 4 December, when four of his beautiful, distinctive pieces will be going under the hammer alongside other collectable creations.
Arje Griegst’s jewellery pieces are predominantly one of a kind. A centrepiece of the Live Auction is his unique necklace, bearing the poetic title “Drømmen” (The Dream). It was commissioned by a special client, who has had the piece in their collection since 1985. Executed in gold and adorned with opal, pearl, lapis lazuli and diamonds, the piece centres on one of Griegst’s distinctive facial motifs. The auction also presents two collectable rings and a pair of earrings by the master.
International recognitionArje Griegst is celebrated globally as one of the most visionary jewellery designers of our time. His creations have been represented at museums such as Design Museum Denmark, Nationalmuseum – Sweden’s museum of art and design in Stockholm, the V&A in London and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Griegst’s artistic signature is his lavish and fantastical idiom, and today his jewellery is highly coveted by collectors and fashion enthusiasts, both in Denmark and internationally. |
