Rococo furniture

We are celebrating our auction jubilee with an unusually large quantity of outstanding rococo furniture.

Rococo bureau in walnut

This imposing rococo bureau in walnut is of Danish or north German origin. The bureau formerly stood in the Oslo Museum of Decorative Art in Norway and bears inventory no. OK 12 760. Both upper and lower parts bear the label: Christiania V. Fra Kongsberg 913. Subsequently, it was to form part of Merchant Louis Foght's collection. The bureau dates from the middle of the eighteenth century. Lot 1813.

A pair of Danish rococo commodes

A pair of charming Danish rococo commodes in the style of Cabinetmaker Preisler of walnut picked out in gold. Third quarter of the eighteenth century. H. 81. B. 60. D. 45. Lot 1854.

Danish rococo bureau

Danish rococo bureau of walnut picked out in gold, curved contoured top, carved with rocaille, combing, flowers and vine leaves, including two contoured doors. Lower part with writing flap behind which are small drawers, door and mirror cabinet, under which there is a curved front with three large drawers, flared legs. Middle of eighteenth century. H. 249. B. 126. D. 66. Lot 1805.

A pair of Portuguese rococo commodes

A pair of Portuguese rococo commodes in walnut and fruitwood picked out in gold, richly carved with rocaille, combings and foliage, curved sides and front with two small and larger drawers, cabriole legs. Top of pink mottled marble. Middle of eighteenth century. H. 79. B. 110. D. 50. Lot 1809.

Danish rococo mirror

Danish rococo mirror in gilt wood frame carved with latticed flowers and foliage, rocaille and combings. Middle of eighteenth century. H. 180. B 70. Lot 1903.
Previously at Augustenborg Castle.

Venetian rococo commode

Venetian rococo commode of olivewood picked out in gold, curved front and sides. Frame carved with open-work foliage and profile portrait. Italy, middle of the eighteenth century. Top missing. H. 82. B. 98. D. 45. Lot 1847.
