New Podcast: Decorating your home is an art

The unique Danish design classics are a permanent fixture in many homes. In the post-war period, Danish architects joined forces with cabinetmakers to create unique pieces of furniture, lauded throughout the world for their simplicity, genius, sublime natural materials and an aesthetic solidity rooted in a strong tradition of craftsmanship. Designers such as Børge Mogensen, Ole Wanscher, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Poul Kjærholm and, perhaps the most famous of all, Hans J. Wegner made their mark in what has since been dubbed the golden age of Danish furniture design. A group that to this day represents the very essence of modern Danish design with a distinctive, sculptural functionalism.

The latest episode of “Arbejdstitel” is about furnishing your home. There is furniture that the two hosts Oliver Enné and Kristoffer Dahy Ernst already own and appreciate. There is the furniture that they dream of one day taking the money to invest in. And then there is the furniture they will never own because the aesthetics are simply not theirs, but which they still admire. Common to many of the decorative objects they talk about is that they are certainly not new, and therefore often have to be found at auction.
