Goldsmith Jytte Kløve in her workshop in Raadvad, 2024. In the video, Jytte Kløve talks about her jewellery and her work as a goldsmith.

Jytte Kløve and her jewellery

As an innovative jewellery designer, goldsmith Jytte Kløve has been a fixture of the Danish art scene for nearly five decades. With an extensive career marked by numerous major projects, her designs exude timelessness, earning her widespread recognition through countless exhibitions and awards. A number of Jytte’s award-winning jewellery designs are now set to go under the hammer at the online auction on Wednesday 30 October.

Jytte has crafted unique handmade jewellery from metals and multicoloured gemstones in her shop and at her workshop. Her jewellery and artistic creations have earned her international acclaim and have been acquired over the years by prestigious institutions such as the Danish Arts Foundation, Designmuseum Danmark and the Museum at Koldinghus. In Jytte’s artistic hands, metal threads become something both raw and poetic, much like herself – colourful and sublime. She often finds inspiration in nature – the local nature around the Mølleåen river near Lyngby, where she has had her shop and workshop since 1975.

Jytte Kløve is an exceptionally skilled artisan, who creates very simple yet carefully considered designs exhibiting exquisite artistry. As one of the leading designers in Danish jewellery, she infuses her work with an ethereal quality, combining design-related lightness and playful ingenuity to make each piece truly unique. Kløve's artistic vision transcends conventional notions of jewellery as mere adornment, elevating her creations into wearable works of art.”
