Wanted: Female pioneers of art

This March, we honor the artistic legacy of women with a Live Auction and Online Auction under the theme “Women in Art: Denmark 1850–1950.” For these auctions, we are currently seeking art, decorative art, and design by female artists and designers who were part of Danish cultural life during this period.

In recent years, female artists and designers have been celebrated worldwide with exhibitions that highlight their work and broaden our perspective. This new focus has shed light on overlooked aspects of art history, rewriting the stories of strong women, while private collectors and museums from Denmark and abroad look to expand their collections.

As part of this movement, we are – for the fifth consecutive year – shining a spotlight on female artists and designers from the period 1850–1950.
