Diamonds Are Forever

The title of the 1971 British spy film starring Sean Connery as secret agent 007 is still absolutely applicable. With us, you can always find diamond jewellery, and this time around the highlights of the auction are found among the naturally coloured diamonds. Only 0.1% of all the world's diamonds are pink, and at the auction, we have a ring with the most beautiful fancy pink diamond of approx. 1.71 ct. from the Argyle mine in Australia. It is accompanied by another beauty in the form of a ring with a fancy green diamond of approx. 3.53 ct., which was found in the Mazaruni River in northern Guyana. We also present several historical Art Deco and Belle Èpoque jewellery as well as rings, bracelets and brooches from well-known brands such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Ole Lynggaard. In a slightly different category, you will find a unique Art Nouveau tiara, which in 1912 was commissioned at Georg Jensen.

Art Nouveau tiara in silver set with cabochon-cut amber and agates. Georg Jensen, 1912. Estimate: DKK 30,000-40,000.

A Vintage Watch for the Wrist?

The auction also offers plenty for the wish list of watch enthusiasts, not least an impressive range of 32 wristwatches from Rolex. Another popular brand at our auctions is Patek Philippe, who this time have provided us with the coveted model Aquanaut of 18k gold not to mention a model Nautilus reference 3800/1A. A more curious entry at the auction is the rare astronomical watch "Astrolabium 2000" by the Dutch watchmaker Christiaan van der Klaauw, whose ambitions have always gone beyond producing time-only watches. Since 1974, he has been creating watches with complications for measuring celestial bodies. The design of the offered "Astrolabium 2000" is directly inspired by the astrolabe – a historical astronomy instrument from antiquity that was used to determine time using the positions of the sun, moon and stars.

Rolex: Gentleman's wristwatch made of steel. Model Submariner "Red Sub", ref. 1680. 1974. Estimate: DKK 125,000-150,000
Patek Philippe: Gentleman's wristwatch of 18k gold. Model Aquanaut, ref. 5065J-001. 1999. Estimate: DKK 250,000-300,000

Film: Watch as wristwatch specialist Vilhelm Islandi Bramsen tells us more about the "Astrolabium 2000" watch.
