Focus on Women in Jewellery Art

Danish design is something truly special, and this is especially true in the world of goldsmithing. At our upcoming Online Auction on March 5, we shine a spotlight on some of the most iconic female jewellery artists.

The auction features works by renowned designers such as Jytte Kløve and Nanna Ditzel, along with many other significant names in Danish jewellery art.

Jytte Kløve: Craftsmanship and Art at a World-Class Level

For nearly 50 years, goldsmith Jytte Kløve has been an innovative force on the Danish art scene. With an impressive résumé, countless exhibitions, and numerous awards, she has built an international reputation as one of Denmark’s leading jewellery artists. Her handcrafted creations, often in metal combined with multicolored gemstones, have found their way into private collections as well as institutions such as the Danish Arts Foundation, Designmuseum Danmark, and the Museum at Koldinghus.

At the Online Auction on March 5, you have the opportunity to bid on several of her exceptional jewellery pieces, including a ring featuring a brilliant-cut diamond of approximately 1.34 ct and two sculptural diamond brooches.

Jytte Kløve: A diamond ring set with a brilliant-cut diamond weighing app. 1.34 ct., mounted in 14k gold. Estimate: DKK 18,000-20,000

Nanna Ditzel: A bangle of 18k gold. Estimate: DKK 30,000-35,000

Nanna Ditzel: A Pioneer in Danish Design

Nanna Ditzel was one of the few women to break through in a male-dominated design world, creating timeless works in furniture design. Throughout her career, she also designed jewellery, including pieces for Georg Jensen.

One of these works—an 18 kt gold bracelet—could now be yours. Designed in 1956, this piece is both simple and sculptural, inspired by an ancient piece of jewellery Ditzel saw at the National Museum in Helsinki.

More Masterpieces at the Auction

The auction also features jewellery from other prominent female designers, including Helga Exner, Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, Marianne Dulong, Marlene Juhl-Jørgensen, and Josephine Bergsøe.
