Coco, Thierry and Louis up for Auction

The nuances of the trees are changing into browns and reds, and the temperature is moving closer to zero degrees. The change of the season calls for a new Autumn wardrobe, and right now you have the chance to acquire vintage clothing and accessories in the finest quality from renowned fashion brands at our upcoming online fashion auction on 7 November at 9 pm.
Exclusive Silk Scarves
At the auction, we offer a series of colourful silk scarves from Hermès. The French fashion house was founded in Paris in 1837 by Thierry Hermès and was originally specialised in luxurious leather goods aimed at the European nobility – including harnesses for their horses. Since then, the house has expanded their business to include everything from lifestyle products to handbags and the popular silk scarves, introduced in 1937.
The original scarf design was based on a drawing created by Robert Dumas, a member of the Hermès family. The high quality was due to the use of durable Chinese silk, which quickly made the scarves popular with several of the prominent figures of the time – including Queen Elizabeth, Audrey Hepburn and not least Grace Kelly, who can be seen wearing a Hermès scarf as a sling around her broken arm in an iconic 1956 photograph.
Today, every single Hermès scarf is still handmade in France, where they are handled by the caring hands of different artists and have a production time of 18 months. For the same reason, the Hermès scarves have become a symbol of the exclusivity and quality that characterizes the brand.
Historic Suitcases
At the auction, we also offer a fine selection of both vintage and newer suitcases from Louis Vuitton. The story behind the popular suitcases dates back to the 1830s, where a young Louis Vuitton got an apprenticeship with the suitcase maker Monsieur Marechal. Vuitton's work quickly became popular among the French elite, and in 1852 he was appointed personal suitcase maker and packer for Napoleon III's wife, Emperor Eugénie de Montijo.
A few years later, when he opened his first store in Paris, he benefited from the Industrial Revolution and the accompanying invention of the steam engine, which made it easier than ever before to travel. The demand for suitcases reached new heights, but Louis Vuitton did not rest on his laurels: Instead, he continued to innovate his designs and a few years after the first store had opened, he debuted his large square suitcases, which today are considered as the birth of modern luggage design.
A Breath of Fresh Fashion Air
If your wardrobe needs a breath of fresh air, we also offer a Chanel backpack of light brown lambskin and several winter-friendly fur coats and jackets such as a mink fur jacket designed by Charlotte Eskildsen. You can also bid on a set of a matching bag and wallet from Goyard – a very popular fashion brand at the moment.
