The anniversary auction will include a focus on artists involved with the groundbreaking, international CoBrA art movement, which existed from 1948–51. About CoBrA

Expressionists, artistic rebels and political activists are just some of the monikers assigned to the CoBrA art group. Common to the artists was an attempt to do away with artistic norms and challenge the very definition of art. In their search for a new and liberated artform for Postwar Europe, they moved towards the subconscious and imagination – inspired by children's drawings and primitive art. CoBrA was not only of great importance to the art scene of the day but has also come to play a significant role for later generations of artists.
