60 Years in the Service of Art

Owner of an auction house, art connoisseur extraordinaire and an auctioneer with a knack for entertaining his audience. We celebrate Jesper Bruun Rasmussen's 60 years with the company at this year's final Live Auction in Copenhagen and invite you inside our atmospheric auction house for a festive afternoon on Thursday 25 November.

"Going once! Going twice! Sold to the lady in the back!”. This is how we know Jesper Bruun Rasmussen: selling another spectacular piece of artwork at auction in the saleroom in the heart of Copenhagen. The Danish auction industry's "grand old man" can now celebrate his 60th jubilee in our auction house. One autumn day in 1961, Jesper was brought into the family business by his father Arne Bruun Rasmussen, and today Jesper still leads the auction house, now with his two children, Alexa and Frederik. For six decades he has been a part of the industry, and he continues to enjoy every single day in the service of art. What drives him is especially the detective work surrounding the provenance of the works of art, setting the right estimates, curating the preview and, of course, stepping up to the podium with his father's old ivory hammer.

Celebrating the Jubilee

On the occasion of Jesper's 60th jubilee, we invite you inside the auction house at Bredgade 33 in Copenhagen on the opening day of the preview on Thursday 25 November between 3-6 pm. Here we can offer you Champagne, marzipan wreath cake and musical entertainment by pianist Giordano Léon Makholm and bassist Rune Fog-Nielsen. There will be ample opportunity to congratulate the jubilarian himself, and we hope to see as many as possible for this festive afternoon in the auction house.
