Maritime Collection from the Admiral Hotel
We drop anchor at the Admiral Hotel with a large Online Auction from the open seas. The hotel's collection of large model ships, historical naval paintings and other fascinating maritime objects is now up for auction.
The Admiral Hotel presents its impressive collection of maritime treasures from Danish seafaring history at our Online Auction on Monday 7 March at 7 pm at bruun-rasmussen.dk. The collection consists of model ships and marine paintings that depict Denmark's history as a maritime nation with a large navy and commercial fleet and a coastline that few other countries can match. One of the highlights is a model of the famous warship HDMS Jylland, which suffered extensive damage during the Battle of Heligoland in 1864, a model of the Training Ship Danmark from 1932 and model ships of Frederik Quintus and Christian Quintus.

Admiral Hotel Renews Its Interior
In the beautiful surroundings of the waterfront in Copenhagen harbour, the Admiral Hotel is housed in a renovated warehouse. 20 years ago, they acquired an impressive collection of maritime objects from prestigious collections, as well as items from the Danish design company Skagerak (formerly known as Trip Trap). For many years, these items helped create a special maritime atmosphere at the hotel, which today is ready for a renewal.
“The Admiral Hotel has undergone major changes over the last couple of years with a complete renovation of our lovely rooms, this make-over now continues downstairs. Here we are removing everything, except our iconic and historic pillars and the brick walls, in close collaboration with the Palaces and Culture Agency. Instead, we are building a modern interior in the cellar as well as developing a number of new concepts that will bring in both international tourists and local Copenhageners. This also means that as we say hello to The Admiral 2.0, we also say goodbye to the hotel's beautiful, maritime collection, which will no longer be part of the visual style. It was therefore a natural choice to ask Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers for advice, as several of the items have been bought at auctions here, and we know that the large collection in this way, which is the best way, will set sail for new owners.”
Jesper Stubgaard, CEO of The Admiral Hotel
