For more than six decades, the tailor Alfred Alm left his mark on Danish menswear. In 1928, he opened his own tailoring house, where some of Denmark’s most prominent figures of the time had their clothes made. The physicist Niels Bohr would regularly cycle over to try on new garments, while Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller ordered suits, dinner jackets and other bespoke clothing throughout his life. His clients also included the actor Morten Grunwald and the musician and composer Bent Fabricius-Bjerre.

The story of Alm can be traced back to Alfred’s Swedish father, Jøns Alm, who was a tailor and had built up a clientele of aristocrats in Denmark. One of his clients was the author Karen Blixen, who took some of his clothes with her when she moved to Kenya in 1914. Jøns Alm worked with natural shoulders and straight, sharply angled lapels – details that his son and apprentice, Alfred Alm, would later carry forward in his own tailoring. He placed particular emphasis on the shoulder area, which was constructed with small folds or pleats that gave the jacket a soft appearance.

Several of Alfred Alm’s bespoke suits are included in the auction. For the quality-conscious collector, these are suits that represent classic Danish tailoring and an era when fine craftsmanship was paramount, and a well-dressed man had his suit made by Alm.

We are also revving up the engines with classics, collector cars and models from some of the most legendary marques in automotive history. Highlights include cars from Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz, but the auction spans a broad spectrum – from elegant grand tourers and classic sports cars to exceptional collector cars and models whose stories extend far beyond the cars themselves. Some are renowned from film and popular culture, while others are notable for their distinguished provenance or are of particular interest thanks to their design, engineering or rarity.

When it comes to great wines, the format should match. The auction features not only rare vintages from some of the world’s most sought-after producers; several are also offered in large formats such as magnum. Magnum bottles are relatively uncommon in their own right, but what makes this selection particularly interesting is that they contain wines from some of the most famous names in the wine world. The wines have also had just one owner and have therefore been kept together in the same location over the years.

Among the most notable lots is a 1989 Romanée-Conti from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, valued at DKK 200,000–260,000. The 1989 vintage is also represented by two bottles of La Tâche from the same producer, while two 1982 Château Cheval Blanc are likewise offered in magnum. In addition, there is a 1990 Château Pétrus in a full three-litre format, along with La Tâche from 1986. In other words, it is a selection in which the vintage, producer and format all make a statement.
