This autumn marks 60 years since Arne Bruun Rasmussen held his first auction in his newly acquired building, Bredgade 33 in Copenhagen. In the early days, the auction house primarily focused on classical pictorial art from the Danish Golden Age as well as prints and antiques. Later, interest grew in the more modern art, such as the works of the Skagen painters, the CoBrA group, and designer furniture. Today, Russian art is popular among many collectors. The speciality areas of our portfolio of auctions started with books and coins, and later wines and weapons were added. Most recently, stamps have been included.
Exclusive auctions
Bruun Rasmussen has scheduled a number of exclusive auctions this autumn to celebrate our legacy and prominence. Today, our international auctions and most recently our membership of International Auctioneers further ensures that sales at Bruun Rasmussen achieve world market prices.
