A Rare Fed from the Freetown of Christiania

Online auction 1617 can offer very different numismatic items. Coins and medals from Freetown Christiania are very sought after, and the more common items are frequent guests at our online auctions. However, we rarely see a Fed in gold from 2006, so it is a pleasure to present auction lot 5268.

From Thailand comes the beautiful "Order of the White Elephant" – not to be confused with the Danish equivalent. This impressive grand cross set is charming in its style and in a very good quality.

Many collectors are interested in police badges, and this time we can offer something as extraordinary as a police solicitor’s badge. It is a rare item, which the ongoing bidding can already testify to.

As something very special we are offering a coin from Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect who, according to the Bible, was responsible for Jesus' crucifixion. The coin is in good condition for its kind, and at the time of writing it is still available at a very reasonable price.

Preview and Valuation Event

The preview will as usual take place at Baltikavej 10 in Copenhagen's Nordhavn. The time for the preview is tomorrow, Friday 29 April, between 10 am and 3:30 pm.

It is also tomorrow that we will be hosting a valuation event at Hotel H. C. Andersen in Odense, where you between 2 and 6 pm in the afternoon can drop by and get a free, non-binding valuation of your coins and stamps. We look forward to an exciting day!
