Wine for your cellar or that special occasion

At wine auction 1513, we have a fabulous, wide selection of all manner of top rate wines, just waiting to be tucked up in your cellar or served at your next festive occasion.

The wine year 2015 is in full swing, and auction 1513 will be the last auction of this quarter. We hope to see a repeat of the trends from the wine auctions earlier this year, not least the recently concluded auction 1511, at which the many delicious wines were in high demand. This resulted in a near sell-out and average hammer prices 15% above the estimate. We would like to thank everyone who took part and look forward to seeing a repeat of the hammer prices achieved so far at the upcoming wine auctions.

Many early bids

Seasoned auction-goers know that there are various ways to submit a bid. You can submit an early bid and thus ensure your maximum bid, you can follow the auction and “drip feed” your bids, or you can wait until the very last moment and follow the auction live. We note with great delight that many have opted for the former, and submitted early bids. We see this as an indication of our customers’ readiness to buy, which, of course, is a reflection of the quality of the wines.

A fabulous, broad selection

The auction features a cornucopia of rarities and delights. Seven lots of Dom Pérignon from 1975-2004, Raveneau, Coche-Dury, Armand Rousseau, DRC and an array of other Grand Cru and Premier Cru Bourgogne. There are 50 lots of Premier Cru from Bordeaux, including some magnificent old Haut Brions. Almost half of the auction is made up of the red Bordeaux, but many other top rate wines in small lots also feature. You will, for example, find Mouton Rothschild, Petrus and Cheval Blanc in the esteemed 1982 vintage. True to form, there are also plenty of “value” lots with highly favourable starting prices.

What else is there?

Following the Bordeaux section, we have Guigal’s top wines, Beaucastel 1989 and 1990 in excellent condition, three lots of Henri Bonneau and a rare, small case of three delectable bottles of Pegau “Da Capo” 2003. France aside, there are delights aplenty. Worthy of special attention is the array of wonderful Barolos and Vega Sicilia 1957 and 1968, which are in excellent condition. The auction rounds off with a small selection of fortified wines in good vintages.

We hope that, like us, you will be delighted by all the interesting lots and wish you all the best with your bidding.
