Outstanding collection from two different chateaux

A large number of vintage Bordeaux wines from the cellars of two different chateaux will be on offer at the June wine auction, including 12 bottles of Château Petrus 1966.

Romanée Conti

In addition, a large number of wines from Domaine de la Romanée Conti will be on offer, including some from 2001, which was the last year when the wines were sold in assorted 12-bottle crates.

Madeira 1790

We are also offering a bottle of Madeira from 1790 made from the Terrantez grape. As a result of the ravages of the vine pest at the end of the nineteenth century, this grape is now extinct. The wine is in extremely fine condition and is probably one of the oldest bottles of drinkable wine in the world.

Bottle symbol = correct storage

As a new service we have introduced a bottle symbol next to those lots where the wine has been correctly stored during aging. This symbol will only be inserted next to those wines where Bruun Rasmussen has itself inspected the conditions. The omission of the symbol does not necessarily mean that the wine has been stored in sub-optimum conditions, but simply that Bruun Rasmussen has not inspected the conditions of storage. Because wine is a living product, as was the case previously too we cannot guarantee the quality or condition of the wine, but this symbol is merely to be regarded as guidance for the buyer.
