Auction house among the ten largest in the world

The hammer has fallen far more than half a million times at Bruun Rasmussen, and now the exciting history of the auction house is being told – of how it was founded by Arne Bruun Rasmussen in 1948 and how with Jesper Bruun Rasmussen at the helm it has undergone an amazing transformation and grown so explosively that it now belongs among the ten largest in the world.

International class collections and art

We read of the fluctuating and at times prodigious prices paid for many of the articles, and there are descriptions of the outstanding collections which have passed under the hammer over the years – right from Knud Abildgaard’s with its fine French antiques to Erik Olesen’s collection of modern art in international class; there is also the tale of the entertaining auction of articles from Dan Turéll’s study.
