The exotic animals

Taxidermist Orla Hedegaard has consigned his unique collection of exotic animals to auction. The manager of Natureshop in the town of Rønde in Djursland (Jutland), Hedegaard has for a great many years practiced taxidermy professionally, creating hunting trophies and mounted displays of animals from all corners of the world.

Hedegaard’s private collection

The collection is the result of Hedegaard’s private taxidermy enterprise. He has created mounted displays for private customers as well as public institutions since the Second World War. Money was scarce after the war, so he was often paid with animal specimens, which then became part of the wide range of animals in store, or were included in his private collection.
Bruun Rasmussen has now been given the honour of auctioning his private collection and part of the remaining inventory at the Natureshop store.
