The photograph is part of the charity auction of photographs by Danish photographer Jan Grarup on behalf of Dignity – The Danish Institute Against Torture. This organization received the Crown Prince Couple’s Social Prize 2017. The knockdown price will be donated in full to Dignity, and Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers do not receive any commission fee or buyer’s premium for this sale. The photograph is part of Danish photographer Jan Grarup’s newly published photo book “And Then There Was Silence” which contains a large selection of his most iconic photographs from crucibles all over the world. The works will be shown in connection with The Dignity Day event in Kongens Have in Copenhagen 9 June. From 15 to 23 June the work will be on exhibition at our department in Nordhavn, Copenhagen.
