A Russian silver-gilt, cloisonné and guilloché enamel cigarette case, of rectangular form with rounded corners, decorated with a shaped shield enamelled translucent sky blue over guilloched ground and applied with red and green enameled gold paillons of ribbon-tied floral swags, all reserved within a pattern of blue, green, and red scrolling foliage against a gilded stippled ground, the gilt interior engraved with a scrolling monogram. Workmaster Mikhail & Semen Gratchev, marked with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, Cyrillic maker's mark EP, assayer A. Romanov in St. Petersburg 1896–1908, 88 standard. Original wood case lined with velvet and silk marked Gratchev with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Russian Imperial Court enclosed. Weight c. 170 g. L. 8.6 cm. W. 7.6 cm. (2).
