Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain - it rises 5,895 meters above sea level and 4,900 meters above the surrounding landscape - and is also the highest volcano in the eastern hemisphere.
This is an original black-and-white silver gelatin press photograph from 1948, which shows signs of normal handling, including fine surface scratches and a few surface pressure marks. Back with slight discolouration.
