Martinus Rørbye (b. Drammen 1803, d. Copenhagen 1848)

On Rørbye's great trip abroad from 1834 to 1837, during which he visited Italy, Greece and Turkey, he stayed in Amalfi in the summer months of 1835, where he made a number of drawings and six painted studies.
