Provenance: Inger-Marie & George Tanier, New York, U.S.A. Received as a wedding gift from architect Finn Juhl. Hence by descent in their family. Inger-Marie Tanier (born Vest) graduated from the School of Interior Design and subsequently worked for several years as an assistant at architect Finn Juhl's design studio. In connection with a dinner party at Finn Juhl's around the turn of the year 1954–55, Inger-Marie Vest met the American furniture importer and designer George Tanier. They subsequently married in the United States in 1956 and maintained a lifelong friendship with Finn Juhl and Hanne Wilhelm Hansen.
