A minor icon with depiction of The Annunciation. Noted with a pen on the reverse: “Erhalten von Olga. Insel Tinos 4 Apr 1872 [...] Marien Bildnis. Louise”, meaning a present to Princess Louise of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (1820–1894), abbess of the noble monastery of Itzehoe from 1860. Oil on panel. 9.5×7.5 cm. (8)
Prince Julius of Glücksborg and Princess Louise of Glücksborg were siblings and children of Duke Wilhelm and Duchess Louise of Glücksborg. Prince Julius and Princess Louise were thus siblings of, among others, King Christian IX of Denmark, Duke Carl of Glücksborg and Duke Friedrich of Glücksborg. Prince Albert of Glücksborg was the son of Duke Friedrich and grandfather of the sisters mentioned below.
