Børge Mogensen (b. Aalborg 1914, d. Gentofte 1972)

A free-standing three-seater sofa with light mahogany legs, upholstered on sides, back and loose cushions with brown patinated leather. Model 2213. Designed 1962. Manufactured and marked with label by Fredericia Furniture in 1967. L. 221 cm.

Børge Mogensen designed this sofa in 1962 for his home in Gentofte north of Copenhagen, where it still stands, placed between the two tables that dictated the measurements of the sofa. The simplicity and clean lines have since made the sofa one of the most recognised Mogensen pieces, still used widely today in government buildings, embassies, executive offices and private homes all over the world. Condition

Wear due to age and use. Marks and scratches. Four cushions with cracks in leather. Leather on back with scratch marks and holes. Leather on front with marks and holes.
