A Russian clear glass goblet, engraved with the Cyrillic monogram of Tsaritsa Elizabeth I Petrovna of Russia, surrounded by mitre crowned military symbols, opposite side with the mitre crowned Russian Warrant, baluster air filled faceted stem. St. Petersburg Glassworks, 1750–1760. H. 21.5 cm.
Tsaritsa Elizabeth I Petrovna (1701–1762) was daughter of Tsar Peter the Great and aunt to Tsar Peter III of Russia, married to Tsaritsa Catherine II the Great of Russia. The monogram E I P in Latin letters points to the Westernisation of Russia in this period.
