Brazil's World Cup triumph on June 21, 1970 in Mexico City marked a high point in the history of the game and showcased legendary players like Pelé, Carlos Alberto Torres and Eduardo Gonçalves de Andrade (better known as Tostão). The Brazilians' dazzling style, characterized by skillful play and optimal teamwork, resulted in a 4–1 final victory over Italy. Pelé scored three of those goals, Carlos Alberto Torres the fourth.
