The Taj Mahal mausoleum was built between 1632 and 1653 by the Indian Grand Mogul Shah Jahan (1592–1666) in memory of his queen, Arjumand Bano Begum (1593–1631), who died in childbirth in 1631.
This is an original black-and-white silver gelatin press photograph from 1958, which has a slightly wavy surface and normal signs of age and handling. Back slightly yellowed.
