An Italian late Baroque bust of carved wood partly painted and gilt in the shape of a saint, with holy reliquary. 17th century. H. 39 cm. Mounted on a later base of wooden faux marbre.

Provenance: BR Auction no. 839, lot 913

Till World War II stock of Rasmussen & Bielenberg Antiques, Wilhelmstrasse 105, Berlin from which it was brought to safety. The shop was bombed in March 1945.

Condition

Some minor surface chips and repairs.
