“Children have always made 'scrap models'. They just don't understand how to preserve them and call it art – not a shred of conceit. 'The scrap model' is closely related to nature, as the material does not attempt an illusion, but IS. Wood looks like wood and iron is first and foremost iron. It has to have some kind of name, preferably a naturalistic one if the resemblance is clear enough. No precious metals are needed here, but if we have the ”precious“ we will include it. No snobbishness here – neither towards high nor low. Each human makes its own ' Scrap Model'. Start Now! Anything can be used. An 'Artwork' doesn't get better because it is more durable. 'My Best Artwork' is not 'Venus on a Horse' in a gold digger frame. A bishop’s crosier or marble clock. Smashing fine porcelain. Emperor Ring a Ding Ding, ”My Artwork“ is straightforward and the coloured areas give it all the contrast and richness that outweighs gold and marble etc.”
