Three blue and white porcelain deep dishes painted with figural scenes with scholars and two with calligraphy, the base bearing the six-character mark of Jiajing enclosed within a double ring and the rim finished with an iron wash, Kangxi period. Diam. 16.5 cm. (3)
Provenance: According to information acquired by Ludvig Stenersen Münter, 1877–1957, who worked for the Great Northern Telegraph Company and was stationed as an assistent in Shanghai from 1900–1909 and as a station master in Beijing from 1909–1929, the family knew Sophus Black, and their home was a popular meeting place for Danish expats in Beijing.
