In 2015, 868 unfinished public buildings were registered in Italy, all of them financed by taxes and public funding. Claudio Verbano has found 300 of them and already photographed 100 for the series Incomplete. As symbols of corruption or mismanagement, they appear displaced on the fringes of society.

The jury selected Claudio Verbano’s works for their form of aesthetics and narration. The project Incomplete has many layers and touches upon both the consequences of the mafia as well as the irony of building more, while other buildings are perishing.
