An Italian Gothic gilt-copper censer, of steeple shape in two levels with tapering top, pierced window-ornamentation og engraved with foliage, on a circular bowl with hexagon base, four suspension chains with a floral rosette. 15th century. H. censer 27 cm. H. in total 78 cm. W. 12 cm.
Provenance: The collection after pharmacist Steen Oxholt Holt-Hove (1906–1986), Danish assay master 1971–1974. Thence by descent until today.
Minor wear due to age and use, including minor scratches and marks, slightly crooked parts and a missing window pill, a crack and two holes in the container, loose base.
