Novgorod School, 16th century

A Russian iconstasis church icon depicting the classic representation of Christ's entry into Jerusalem. Jesus Christ on horseback is entering the town gate of Jerusalem followed by the disciples Peter (in yellow) and John (in green). Tempera on wood panel with a kovcheg. Novgorod School, 16th century. 56×43 cm.
