Sven Simon (1941–1980) was one of the world's most recognized - and most used - sports photographers of his time, whose images could be seen in newspapers and magazines around the globe, including during and after the World Cup in Mexico in the summer of 1970. By the way, the name Sven Simon was a pseudonym. His real name was Axel Springer Jr, born as the son of German media magnate Axel Springer (1912–1985). This is an original b/w silver-gelatin press photograph from 1970, which appears with a 'speckled' surface, this being visible only from certain angles. Furthermore normal handling marks. The edges of the back are slightly yellowed.
