Helge Vestergaard Jensen (b. Herning 1917, d. Copenhagen 1987)

Rectangular Brazilian rosewood dining table, top with extension and four extra leaves. Rail integrated with sculpturally shaped fork legs. Designed 1959. This example made 1960s by cabinetmaker Peder Pedersen. H. 72 cm. W. 104 cm. L. 170/402 cm.

Model presented at The Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark, 1959. Literature: Grete Jalk [ed.]: “40 Years of Danish Furniture Design”, vol. 4, ill. pp. 96–97: “It is rare to find pieces which are so obviosly the results of close co-operation between designer and cabinetmaker....”.
