A collection of more than 200 invitations, thank you cards, menus and event programmes related to the Danish Royal family, collected by the former Master of the Royal Household (Hoffourer), Poul Larsen. The material dates from around 1901 to 2006 and many are signed by the Queen and/or other members of the royal family. The collection includes a thank you letter stamped H. M. Yacht Britannia and dated 21 May 1979. It is addressed to Mr. Poul Larsen and written on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, thanking him and his staff for looking after her and The Duke of Edinburgh during their three day visit to Fredensborg Castle. Also included are programmes for events such as the wedding of Queen Margrethe II to Prince Henrik in 1967, complete with a guest list and table plans, and for the funeral ceremony of King Frederik IX in 1972. The collection also includes the programme for the royal couple's summer cruise around Denmark on the royal yacht “Dannebrog” in 1972, and several programmes for state visits by foreign dignitaries, such as The President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi of Iran and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
