Collection of Mandarin hat buttons of metal, glass and enamel/porcelain. China, 19th century. H. c. 5 cm. (7)

Provenance: Acquired by former vice consul in Shanghai Georg Jørgen Carl Frederik Beck, 1837–1869. Included a handwritten note with the buttons signification.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Some of them with loose mountings. Light blue with chips, both pink with repair and chips. A pair with loose mountings. Added 3/10: Minimal chips on clear button.
