Miniature portrait of King Frederik VI of Denmark (1768–1839). Unsigned. Handcoloured lithograph laid on board. Sheet size 9×7.5 cm. In circular passepartout and four-sided Damborg-frame with label.
This type of portraits were seen produced in connection with his death in 1839.
The King var married to Queen Marie, née Princess of Hesse-Kassel (1767–1852). She was sister to Princess Louise of Hesse-Kassel (1789–1867), married 1810 with Prince Wilhelm af Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck (1785–1831), from 1825 Due of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

Examined in frame. The paper has turned slightly brown with minimal crackles above the left shoulder. Frame with wear due to age and few repairs.
