Sophie Petrine Pedersen is educated at the Drawing and Art Industry School for Women floowed by The Royal Academy of Art fraom 1904–10 with Viggo Johansen and Sigurd Wandel. She paints - in addition to still lifea and flowers - portraits, portraits, cityscapes from Copenhagen and landscapes. She is particularly interested in the light and the atmosphere, and over time becomes more impressionistic in her painting style and lighter in her color attitude. Pedersen was chairman of the Society of Women Artists in the period 1921–24.
