The tapestry was made under the leadership of Pierre Baudouin. He contacted Le Corbusier back in 1948 to collaborate on the tapestries. A close collaboration lasted between the two until Le Corbusier's death. Pierre Baudouin had taught art history in Aubusson, and he was also an artist himself.

Provenance: Architect Jørn Utzon, hence by descent in the family.
