A Chinese gilt bronze official standing and holding an implement, wearing flowing robes on square base. Ming 1368–1644. Weight 1240 gr. H. 28 cm.
Provenance: Consul Gunnar Buck, was employed in 1921 in East Asian Company. In 1928, he began his overseas service in Malya, China and Manchuria. GB became Vice consul in Harbin 1940–1945 and in 1952 he became Denmark's consul in Tokyo.
Condition
Head part of the hair adornment missing, peeling at the gilt, some holes in the metal, corroded. Wear due to age and use.
