J. M. Preisler (after Jacques Saly) (b. Nuremburg 1715, d. Copenhagen 1794)

Frederik V.s equestrian staue on Amalienborg Slotsplads. Inscribed in print Delineavit J. Saly, Sculpsit J. M. Preisler. Engraving engraved on two plates and printed on two sheets of paper. Visible size 81×65 cm.

The present engraving was made in Paris, and due to its size J. M. Preisler had to use two copper plates in the printing process.

Condition

The paper has turned slightly brown. Damp discolourations. Printers crease. Horisontal gathering of the two sheets. At edges repairs of minor tears and areas of paperloss.
