A French historicist silver lidded tureen, of circular shape, domed lid with a bouquet finial of cauliflower, onion and celery, etc., body with a full upper part on a narrow-round base, curved twin handles, throughout chased and embossed with wide gadroons, oak leaves and shell ornamentation. Apparently no maker's mark, fineness 950, French export mark. Weight 5,957 g. H. 23 cm. W. 46 cm. Diam. 33 cm.
